Woods custom bookcases and shelving

Brighton Cabinetry uses only the finest quality wood to build your custom cabinets. Ranging from traditional Cherry to contemporary Lyptus and painted finishings, each wood has its own unique characteristics.

Maple

A smooth, close-grain wood, primarily white in color. Random rays of wood grain outlines in small dark lines occur in white maple. Small black dots, or bird's eyes, and black material traces are another touch of nature. Maple takes on a golden hue as it ages. Maple Finishes

Cherry

Color ranges from white to deep brown. Exposure to light deepens the color, turning it to a dark, reddish brown in the darker areas and to shades from yellow to brown in the light areas. These natural changes should be expected. Cherry Finishes

Rustic Alder

Faded yellow to light brown in color, rustic alder appears somewhat uniform with sound whole knots and cut knots. Rustic Alder Finishes

Oak

A strong, open grained wood with color ranging from salmon to white. Accents of green, yellow, or black through the surface indicate mineral deposits absorbed during the tree's growth. Worm holes, knots, and wild grain patterns serve as nature's fingerprints. Oak Finishes

Hickory

A strong and varied grain wood. In a light finish, the color ranges from white to dark chocolate brown. Random knots and worm holes add even more character to its natural beauty. Hickory Finishes

Lyptus

A strong and varied grain wood, with medium texture and occasional color streaks. Light finishes reveal a color range from pink to reddish brown. Contrasting shades of red and brown is one of its natural characteristics. When exposed to light, Lyptus darkens in color. Lyptus is grown in renewable plantations, helping to protect the environment. Lyptus Finishes

Painted Cabinets

Combine the beauty of wood with the clean look of a painted finish. Over time, the wood naturally expands and contracts, while the painted finish may develop hairline cracks, most noticeable in the joint areas. This is a result of the genuine hardwoods used in our products' manufacture; it should not detract from the cabinet's beauty.
